Introducing Pastor Steven from Rwanda:

Pastor Steven

Pastor Steven Turikunkiko has set up a community in Rwanda for victims of the genocide. 160 widows & teenagers & 80 younger children live with him; farming, sharing their lives and caring for those dying from AIDS. The community subsists on less than $1 per person per day.

At enormous personal sacrifice, Pastor Steven and his wife have also adopted 20 orphans - who live with them and their 2 other children.

Emerge AcademyYouthwork International provides accredited online training for youth workers around the world through the Emerge Academy.

Learners can study for either a Certificate in Christian Youth Ministry or Level 3 Certificate in Youth Work. These cost £150 if you subscribe to 'Youthwork' magazine and £200 if you choose not to subscribe. All the training is online and you can complete the Units within a timescale that suits you. 

  • All resources are given free to each learner (articles, chapters from books, PowerPoint presentations, access to the Encyclopedia of Youth Studies etc)
  • There are free discussion forums in which to participate
  • Learners choose one of three levels to work at, to suit their ability and/or time availability
  • Work is marked (online) and returned to learners within days of submission
  • Each learner is appointed a personal tutor for all study-related contact
