Introducing Pastor Steven from Rwanda:

Pastor Steven

Pastor Steven Turikunkiko has set up a community in Rwanda for victims of the genocide. 160 widows & teenagers & 80 younger children live with him; farming, sharing their lives and caring for those dying from AIDS. The community subsists on less than $1 per person per day.

At enormous personal sacrifice, Pastor Steven and his wife have also adopted 20 orphans - who live with them and their 2 other children.

Christians jailed for human trafficking

Download

Egypt flagTwo couples will both be spending the next two years in an Egyptian prison for allegedly attempting to traffic children. Both couples have claimed that they were attempting to adopt the children, not abduct them.

In Egypt, Muslims are not allowed to adopt children. However, Christians are allowed to - although the process can be torturously slow and administratively burdensome. As a result, many couples will resort to forging documents and paying bribes.

The four parents found guilty of trafficking are Egyptian-born Christians who hold US residency. They must also pay a fine of $18,000 each.

Seven Egyptians have also been sentenced with regard to this case for proving forged documentation. They have all been sentenced to prison and must pay heavy fines.
