Voting age to be lowered?

The plan is that devolved governments will be able to lower the voting age if they want to. So Wales and Scotland would see young people vote from the age of 16 but England would keep the minimum voting age at its present level. The Children's Rights Alliance is unhappy with this inequality and they are calling on Gordon Brown to reduce the voting age to 16 across the nations.

Some can vote at 16 but others have to wait until they are 18. That is the scenario if a proposal from the Youth Citizenship Commission is accepted.
