Pastor Steven Turikunkiko has set up a community in Rwanda for victims of the genocide. 160 widows & teenagers & 80 younger children live with him; farming, sharing their lives and caring for those dying from AIDS. The community subsists on less than $1 per person per day. At enormous personal sacrifice, Pastor Steven and his wife have also adopted 20 orphans - who live with them and their 2 other children. Multifaith Marathon for children
1,000 children participated in the event. Young people came from all over Lebanon as well as from the Palestinian refugee camps of Bourj al-Barjneh and Nahr al-Bared. World Vision have hailed the marathon as a successful statement of young people's commitment to peace and unity. There were other activities too - including games, other sports, music and magic performances. |

World Vision's multifaith marathon for children has proven to be a great success. Called 'You and I are Number 1', the marathon took place in Beirut this week.
