Introducing Pastor Steven from Rwanda:

Pastor Steven

Pastor Steven Turikunkiko has set up a community in Rwanda for victims of the genocide. 160 widows & teenagers & 80 younger children live with him; farming, sharing their lives and caring for those dying from AIDS. The community subsists on less than $1 per person per day.

At enormous personal sacrifice, Pastor Steven and his wife have also adopted 20 orphans - who live with them and their 2 other children.

Students fight for animal rights

Download

China flagStudents in China have seen enough mistreatment of animals in their country - and are now determined to make some real changes...

In the Guangdong Province, animal markets provide live goods regularly used for medical treatments: stewed turtle for cancer, crocodile for asthma, scorpion venom to alleviate stroke symptoms etc. In addition, there is a huge market for endangered animals - that will end up being cooked in restaurants.

Students have begun monitoring markets and restaurants and informing the authorities when they find endangered species 'on the menu'. Many people think they are wasting their time - but they have seen some very real successes, most especially with regard to turtles.

It is estimated that 50% of people living in the province regularly eat wild animals.
