The community subsists on less than $1 per person per day. At enormous personal sacrifice, Pastor Steven and his wife have also adopted 20 orphans - who live with them and their 2 other children. Politicians must develop stronger morals
A Charter was issued at the end of the Conference which also saw key Muslim leaders in attendance. The Charter calls for a commitment to regulate ties between the Government and the Palestinian Authority in Lebanon, a normalisation of relationship with Syria and a commitment to bring all weapons under state control. Voters have been encouraged by the religious leaders to choose political candidates who have a strong sense of moral ethics. There was also a call for Muslim and Christians to work constructively together for the preservation of Lebanon's character. |

Politicians are not following the right moral path in Lebanon and they must change. That was the view of Christian leaders in Lebanon, expressed at a recent Conference hosted by the Maronite Church.
