Pastor Steven Turikunkiko has set up a community in Rwanda for victims of the genocide. 160 widows & teenagers & 80 younger children live with him; farming, sharing their lives and caring for those dying from AIDS. The community subsists on less than $1 per person per day. At enormous personal sacrifice, Pastor Steven and his wife have also adopted 20 orphans - who live with them and their 2 other children. New teaching initiatives in Lebanon
A new 3-storey building has been commissioned for LL2 billion. It comprises 12 teaching rooms, a a library, laboratory, offices and basketball playgrounds.

Teacher training standards are increasing in Lebanon. This is largely due to a new initiative in training sessions for teachers at the Sidon Teachers' College. The emphasis is on increasing performance levels and skills-base in the South of the country. There is praise for Education Minister, Bahia Hariri for making this a Government priority.
