Search the siteAn Heroic MinistryIntroducing Pastor Steven from Rwanda:
Pastor Steven Turikunkiko has set up a community in Rwanda for victims of the genocide. 160 widows & teenagers & 80 younger children live with him; farming, sharing their lives and caring for those dying from AIDS. The community subsists on less than $1 per person per day. At enormous personal sacrifice, Pastor Steven and his wife have also adopted 20 orphans - who live with them and their 2 other children. Persecution intensifies in India
It is thought that local Maoist rebels are behind the attacks. Police have tried to stop the attacks - but they too are coming under attack from the violent mobs. 25 August was a high-point of violence: 40 Christian homes destroyed, patients and priests at a Christian hospital beaten, two Catholic priests missing, a Baptist church and several schools set alight and boys beaten at a hostel. Horrifically, in the Konjamendi region, a priest suffered a terrible beating and a nun was raped. A Pastoral Centre has been destroyed and a van carrying the Sisters of Mother Teresa was attacked.
