Introducing Pastor Steven from Rwanda:

Pastor Steven

Pastor Steven Turikunkiko has set up a community in Rwanda for victims of the genocide. 160 widows & teenagers & 80 younger children live with him; farming, sharing their lives and caring for those dying from AIDS. The community subsists on less than $1 per person per day.

At enormous personal sacrifice, Pastor Steven and his wife have also adopted 20 orphans - who live with them and their 2 other children.

A young Scout leader fell to his death this week on a climbing trip

England flagThe Scout Association has confirmed the death of 21-year old Thomas Moore, from Stevenage, Hertfordshire. He went missing on a climbing trip in Liechtenstein. Although with a group, Moore had gone off on his own to climb some other ridges. His body was found at the bottom of a ravine. It is thought that Moore had fallen 1,000ft (309m) to his death.

Moore's mother has released a statement, saying, "The last text I had from him said, 'one more walk and then I will have done everything I wanted to do'. We know right up until the last minute or so before he died he was probably at his absolute happiest. We feel that those last two weeks of his life were probably absolutely fantastic and he was really happy."

The trip to Liechtenstein had been organised by Hertfordshire Scouts.
