The community subsists on less than $1 per person per day. At enormous personal sacrifice, Pastor Steven and his wife have also adopted 20 orphans - who live with them and their 2 other children. 'Smoking Jesus' causes offence
A picture of Jesus smoking and drinking beer has caused embarrassment to Christians in Malaysia. The pictures are on the Internet and have caused great concern amongst the Malaysian faithful. This latest upset comes just a year after a Malaysian Tamil-language paper, Makkal Osai, was closed by the government after publishing a picture of Jesus smoking. Makkal Osai, which has circulation amongst Malaysia's minority Indian population, was allowed to re-open after one month but, understandably, tensions are still high. |
