Pastor Steven Turikunkiko has set up a community in Rwanda for victims of the genocide. 160 widows & teenagers & 80 younger children live with him; farming, sharing their lives and caring for those dying from AIDS. The community subsists on less than $1 per person per day. At enormous personal sacrifice, Pastor Steven and his wife have also adopted 20 orphans - who live with them and their 2 other children. "Gay Day" in California schools
The California Assembly approved AB 2567 by 43 votes to 26. The official title will be 'Harvey Milk Day' in memory of the work of the late Harvey Milk, San Francisco Supervisor. All public schools will be required to "conduct suitable commemorative exercises" in commemoration of Milk's work. Randy Thomasson, President of 'Campaign for Children and Families', has said that, "If signed into law, AB 2567 will mean an official day commemorating homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality in California government schools…This will harm children as young as kindergarten." Only a veto by Governor Schwarzenegger will prevent this legislation from entering the statute books.
