Shock as New Testaments are burnt in Israel
The New Testaments were burnt in the town of Or Yehuda. The spokesman for the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia, Boruh Gorin, told Interfax-Religion that "It has become a top story in all Israeli papers and I didn't see anything except condemnation there." It is thought that the vice-mayor of Or Yehuda, Uzi Aaron, ordered the collection of all New Testaments that had been distributed by Christian missionaries to locals in the town. He then ordered them to be burnt in front of the synagogue. |

Russian Jews are so shocked at the burning of New Testaments in Israel, that they are leading a movement of widespread condemnation against the act.
