Pastor Steven Turikunkiko has set up a community in Rwanda for victims of the genocide. 160 widows & teenagers & 80 younger children live with him; farming, sharing their lives and caring for those dying from AIDS. The community subsists on less than $1 per person per day. At enormous personal sacrifice, Pastor Steven and his wife have also adopted 20 orphans - who live with them and their 2 other children. Disney star promises abstinence until marriage
Gomez is most famous for playing 'Gianna' on Barney & Friends and providing a voice-over in the animated film, 'Horton Hears a Who'. In addition, she has her own Disney show, The Wizards of Waverley Palace. Gomez asked her father for a Promise Ring and had it blessed in church. "I'm going to keep my promise, for myself, for my family, and for God," she said. Gomez is allowed to date boys but is under a strict curfew for returning home. Other US stars who have made similar promises recently are Jordin Sparks (the American idol winner) and the Jonas brothers pop group.
